Fund Management Solutions

As the Trustee Company, we understand the importance of managing Trusts effectively and efficiently. We provide a comprehensive solution for multiple funds, acting as a trusted partner for the Government of India, State Governments, and Quasi Governments. We have created a two tier structure with a dedicated Trustee Company, NABSanrakshan and multiple credit guarantee funds Trusts under its management. Two such trusts of Government of India are currently under our Trusteeship.

Credit Guarantee Operations

We are dedicated to operating credit guarantee funds for agriculture and rural development and other related sectors. We simplify the process of credit guarantee related to agriculture, allied activities, industry, services, and business including MSMEs and other Priority Sector activities. We provide day-to-day operation and implementation support for all credit guarantee schemes of the Trusts including registration of Member Lending Institutions, guarantee approvals, guarantee maintenance, fee collection, claim settlement, investment of funds, scheme propagation, IT Services and other associate services.

We are fully owned subsidiary of NABARD and share the similar objective of promoting sustainable and equitable agriculture and rural development through participative financial and non-financial interventions. Our credit guarantee mechanism under the management of NABARD provides the much needed fillip to the growth and development of the sector.

We provide services to various lending institutions for accessing credit guarantee solutions, enabling them to provide easy credit to hitherto excluded population segment. With our expertise and network of financial partners, we are here to help small and marginal farmers, rural entrepreneurs, FPOs, Federations, individuals, MSMEs etc. to start their own enterprises. We enable Scheduled Banks, Regional Rural Banks, Small Finance Banks, Co-operative Banks, NBFCs, Corporations etc. to de-risk their credit portfolio and provide hassle free credit services.

Shri Shaji K V

Chairman

Shri Shaji K V, Chairman, NABARD assumed charge as Chairman of the Company on 03 January 2023. Shri Shaji is a Post Graduate in Agriculture and holds PGDM in Public Policy from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad apart from Diploma in Treasury, Investment & Risk Management.

He is also a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Banking & Finance and a NSE Certified Market Professional (NCMP). He has been member of many National Level Expert Committees/ Working Groups including Working Group on Agriculture Value Chain Finance, Expert Committee to suggest future roadmap for RRBs, Technical Group on Social Stock Exchange, Committee for drafting guidelines for IPO by RRBs, Committee on Cost sharing of ATMs, etc. He has got extensive Board level experience for about 10 years in various organisations viz., National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), Canara HSBC Life Insurance Company Ltd. and Canara Bank Securities Ltd., besides being the Chairman of Kerala Gramin Bank, the then largest Regional Rural Bank of the country, and also of NABKISAN Finance Ltd., a subsidiary of NABARD.

Shri J. S. Upadhyay

Nominee Director (NABARD)

Shri J. S. Upadhyay, Chief General Manager of Institutional Development Department, NABARD. In a career spanning over three decades, he has worked in various Departments, Regional Offices and Head Office of NABARD. He holds a Bachelors’ Degree in Science and Law from the University of Lucknow.

He had handled several assignments viz. the implementation of “Prof. Vaidyanathan Package for Short Term Cooperative Banks”, “Revival, Reform & Restructuring package for Handloom Sector in India”, “Financial Inclusion and E-Shakti project for the digitisation of SHGs”. He also has vast experience in areas of Bank Supervision of RRBs and Rural Co-operative Banks. He is an active contributor to “Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI), Bangkok, Thailand”. He has also regularly contributed as faculty support to training colleges of various Scheduled Commercial Banks and Rural Co-operative Banks.

Shri Pradeep Mehrotra

Shri Pradeep Mehrotra, Chief General Manager of Business Initiatives Department of NABARD. He has a Bachelors' Degree in Economics from the University of Lucknow and is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers, Mumbai and has done a Certificate Course in Microfinance.

He has worked in different positions across various Regional Offices and the Head Office of NABARD in planning, developmental, State Infrastructure Projects and Human Resources Department.

Shri Pankaj Kumar, General Manager of NABARD, holds a Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science, Masters’ Degree in Mathematics from the University of Delhi and Masters’ in Financial Management from JBIMS, Mumbai. He also holds a Certificate in Big Data Analytics for Business and Administration and is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers.

In his professional journey of 25 years with NABARD at District, Regional Offices and Head Office level, he has acquired experience in HR, Training, Financial Accounting, Financial Inclusion and Banking Technology, Rural Innovation, Credit planning, Microfinance and Credit Guarantee.

Chief Executive Officer

Shri Rahul Uppal, General Manager of NABARD, holds a Bachelors’ Degree in Law, Masters’ Degree in Statistics from Punjab University, Chandigarh. He also holds PG Diploma in Human Resource Management and is a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers.

In the professional journey of 27 years with NABARD, at District Regional Offices and Head office level, he has acquired experience in Rural Infrastructure Financing, Credit planning, HR and Cooperatives and other related departments. Before joining NABSanrakshan Trustee Private Limited, he was as CEO/MD of Haryana State Cooperative Apex Bank Ltd (Harco Bank) for two years.
